Rainbow Fruits Day – Learning the importance of fruits

We have all heard the saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This saying doesn’t just focus on apples. It focuses on the importance of fruits altogether.

Did you know that fruits are among the most nutritious foods? They contain vitamins, minerals, fiber, and anti-oxidants, which keep us energetic and healthy. They are also delicious and are excellent snacks. To teach our tots about the many different kinds of fruits and the benefits they shower upon us, we conducted the Rainbow Fruits Day at our campus on 20th January 2018. We also taught them the colors, shapes, textures, smell, and tastes of these fruits.

The main reason why we picked up the rainbow theme was to awaken kids’ interests and also to explain to them that each color is important for a healthy diet. We gave each child a fruit of different color, and they arranged them on a skewer in the pattern of rainbow colors. Kids also ate the fruits happily through this engaging session.

“Kids were excited to see colors of the rainbow arranged by using fruits,” a teacher from PP1 said.

“I like apples a lot. I will eat only apples,” said little Thanvi from PP1.

Through this event, we successfully helped kids understand that all fruits are beneficial and that we must include them in our diet plans. We are going to keep conducting such events so that our kids learn the most important lessons through play, activity, and engagement.
