Green Day – Helping kids realize the responsibility we have towards the environment

12 September 2018 was celebrated as Green Day at Presidency kids in order to help children understand the importance of nature and our responsibility towards it.

We strongly believe that social and environmental sensitization must be done during the early years if we want our children to grow up to be dutiful and dependable. Taking this belief further, we organized Green Day for our Nursery children and made Green Day all about the colour green! We all know nature is green and we thought it would be a fun way for them to learn about the colour as well.

Thus, our teachers displayed a variety of green objects including vegetables, fruits, toys, and plants. We also encouraged everyone to dress up in the colour green to complement the occasion. The classroom was also all green.

Through the day we spoke about the significance of the colour and our children showcased their green items with much enthusiasm. For example, Rudr Patel spoke to us about his frog while Aaradhya showed us her gun. Vihas, on the other hand, was excited about the pear fruit, which he brought to show all of us. Another activity that we engaged our children in was decoration. We brought many decorative items and all of us sat together to decorate them beautifully.

Green signifies beauty, harmony, and balance. It speaks to us about growth, renewal, and rebirth. It is a positive colour that tells us that we must nurture and love ourselves and everyone around us. We are so glad that we took up this colour of well-being and self-respect, and taught our children its importance in such a fun manner.

We hope to keep conducting many such activities and events at the school.
