Rainbow Fruit Day – Celebrating colours of food!

Children need to be familiarized with the taste of fruits and vegetables from a young age to establish healthy habits later in life. With an objective to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits in a regular diet, the tiny tots of PP1 celebrated ‘Rainbow Fruit Day’ on 27th Jan 2020, Monday.

Teachers made interesting and simple stories on encouraging children to have fruits in their meals. They also explained the importance of fruits’ intake in diet for mental and physical growth. The tiny tots also learned more about the taste, smell, colour and texture of each fruit. Children and teachers sang the fruit rhyme with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness on this special day.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that fruits are better than junk food. Kids brought different fruits to school and shared with their friends.  Teachers and helpers chopped many different fruits to make colourful fruit kebabs – kids had to put the pieces to the barbeque sticks. Kids enjoyed the rainbow fruit kebabs in the classroom.

The fruitful thought to celebrate Rainbow Fruit Day originated from the will to create and preserve positive living conditions. Every child got an awareness of the most number of fruits throughout the event.
